DIAMOND DASHThis past weekend, Jordon and I hunted for a $12,000 diamond engagement ring from Joseph Jewelers. We were one of 300 couples that were chosen, out of 1,000 applicants. The treasure hunt took us ALL over the downtown Des Moines area on a 3-hour hunt.
Each clue was texted to our cell phones, and there were over 80 text messages during the entire treasure hunt!!! Here's how it worked: First, we had to solve the riddle and find the location. Second, we had to get ourselves to that location (we had bikes). Third, we had to complete a challenge... a challenge that could ONLY be completed succesfully if you were at the right location. And I have to add, we wouldn't have gotten very far if we didn't have my dad as our "lifeline" to investigate the clues on the Internet back home!
Each couple was on a different track, so we couldn't really pick out a smart-looking couple and follow them! We had a blast! But, sadly we came home without the diamond. Our final score... 288 out of 400 points. The winning couple scored 366. Here are some pictures I found on the Joseph's Jewelers website. I wish I had more, but there was NO time for picture-taking!
